# RIDERNAV R7M & R7X | WHICH ONE FOR YOUR BIKE?
In this video I have the RiderNav R7M and R7X running together at the same time on my BMW R1200GSA, giving you a proper real-world look at both 7-inch RiderNav smart displays and helping you decide which version is right for your motorcycle.
I'm using two separate phones, allowing me to run Apple CarPlay on both displays simultaneously and compare the experience side-by-side while they're actually fitted to the bike.
I also have the optional TPMS connected to the R7X, so you can see the R7X setup working with tyre-pressure monitoring rather than simply looking at specifications.
### R7M โ THE BMW-SPECIFIC OPTION
The RiderNav R7M is designed specifically for compatible BMW motorcycles with the OEM Navigation Preparation. It integrates directly with the BMW setup and provides features including Wonder Wheel control and BMW motorcycle data integration.
For riders with a compatible BMW and Nav Prep, the R7M gives you the most integrated RiderNav experience.
### R7X โ THE UNIVERSAL OPTION
The RiderNav R7X brings the same concept to a much wider range of motorcycles. It uses its own mounting and power solution, making it suitable for riders who don't have the compatible BMW navigation preparation.
With the optional TPMS fitted, you can also monitor your tyre pressures directly through the R7X.
### ๐ ONE RIDERNAV โ MORE THAN ONE BIKE
Another important option I discuss in the video is using your R7M or R7X across more than one motorcycle.
Rather than buying another complete display, you can purchase an additional compatible mount/cradle for your second bike. This allows you to move the RiderNav display between motorcycles, potentially making either unit a much more flexible and cost-effective option if you own and regularly ride more than one bike.
I show and discuss how this can expand the usefulness of both the R7M and R7X, particularly for multi-bike owners.
### SO WHICH ONE SHOULD YOU BUY?
There isn't a winner or loser in this comparison โ the R7M and R7X are designed for different motorcycles and different installations.
๐๏ธ BMW with compatible OEM Nav Prep โ R7M
๐๏ธ Other motorcycles / universal installation โ R7X
๐๏ธ Own more than one bike? โ Consider an additional mount and use your RiderNav across multiple motorcycles.
Both give you a large 7-inch motorcycle display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing you to use navigation, music and your compatible smartphone apps while riding.
By having both displays installed and operating together on the same R1200GSA, I can show you exactly what they have in common and, more importantly, the differences that determine which one is right for your bike.
